KI Character Reviews

This is the page where I review the gaming styles of the Killer Instinct fighters.  In other words, I either praise or complain about the controls, etc.   I'll start with the overall review.

Five characters in Killer Instinct 2 had shadow moves.  However, I think it'd be more fair if all the characters had a shadow move.

Overall, the characters are well-balanced.  Each one has three openers, an overhead, a pressure move, and what I call a "stopper" move.   For the Openers, I've categorized them into three categories based on the paper-rock-scissors counter theory: The "charge/overhead," the "swipe/stationary," and the "low" move.  I'll use Jago's as an example.  The Wind Kick is the "charge/overhead," the Laser Blade is the "swipe/stationary," and the Ninja Slide is the low move.  But what's a "stopper" move?  Say you're playing with Fulgore, and Jago comes at you with a Wind Kick.  Fulgore's standing Fierce Kick will stop him dead in his tracks, hence the name "stopper" move.  It might be a standing Fierce Punch, depending on the character.  Also, each character has a dizzy move.  Just perform the Parry move, and follow it with a certain special move.  "But Spinal doesn't have a Parry Move!"  Well, he does have the Super Stunning Skull move to make 'em dizzy.  Well, that's it for the overall review.  Now hear my praises and complaints about the individuals.
